Hi,

how can we specify the alternate gatekeeper in group 500 version 6.1.7

the customer has two VBP each on embedded gatekeeper mode, one in the HQ and another one in remote office in a difierent city both location connected through site to site VPN. they need to use the local gatekeeper and failover to the other one in case the local one fails.

note: no RPRM

I tried to download and edit the codec profile as below,

v:comm.NICs.H323Nic.gatekeeper.alternategk[0]:"192.168.100.50"
v:comm.NICs.H323Nic.gatekeeper.alternategk[1]:""
v:comm.NICs.H323Nic.gatekeeper.alternategk[2]:""
v:comm.NICs.H323Nic.gatekeeper.alternategk[3]:""
v:comm.NICs.H323Nic.gatekeeper.authentication.enabled:"False"
v:comm.NICs.H323Nic.gatekeeper.authentication.username:""
v:comm.NICs.H323Nic.gatekeeper.currentprimary:"192.168.1.252:1719"
v:comm.NICs.H323Nic.gatekeeper.gatekeeperenable:"Specify"
v:comm.NICs.H323Nic.gatekeeper.gkipaddress[0]:"192.168.1.252"

But it seem the codec is neglecting the change as when I download the profile again I find the alternate gatekeeper is empty.

v:comm.NICs.H323Nic.gatekeeper.alternategk[0]:""

is that possible or we have to have RPRM to provision it?

Alternate Gatekeeper is not something that you specify on an endpoint.  The way it's supposed to work is that when an endpoint registers with a gatekeeper (with RRQ), the gatekeeper provided the address of the alternate geeper (within RCF) so that when connection with the original gatekeeper fails, the endpoint will go register to the alternate gatekeeper.

Therefore, Alternate Gatekeeper needs to be configured on the primary gatekeeper.  It's not something that's configurable on the endpoint.
