Hello,

On a newly delivered HDX 6000 system the camera doesn't power on when the unit is switched on. When we reattach the cable to the codec box only then the image is displayed on the screen. Such a procedure obviously isn't gonna play well with the CEOs and managers as end users 🙂

Could this indicate a faulty camera or the standard 3m cable appears to be too long for this and there is no enough power?

Thanks for any suggestions,

Regards

Alex

Hello,

The Eagle eye camera supports up to 30ft wihtout the need for an external power supply.

In addition to power and video, there’s data that goes back and forth between the HDX and the camera. Hot swaping the camera cable can cause for this communication to be interupted.

If possible try the following:

  • Turn the unit off
  • Reseat the camera cable at both ends
  • Turn the unit on

This should re stablish the communication between the camera and the CODEC.

If this issue is still present, please call our support center and open a service request..
