Hello,

While trying to connect a far video confrence system over internet, we are unable to see far video end. I could see more of oneway trafiic is passing and my end is blocking someting so, i cant see the far end.  Please help to understand the NAT setting that I need to check for this to work.

  1. Determine the NAT’s external (WAN) IP address.
  2. Determine the IP address of the system. This can be found in the System Information screen.
  3. Go to Quality of Service and Firewalls screen (System > Admin Settings > Network > IP > Firewall)
  4. Select Use Fixed Ports.
  5. Select System is behind a NAT.
  6. Enter the NAT’s external IP address into the NAT outside (WAN) address field.
  7. Write down the Fixed TCP and UDP port numbers displayed on this screen. The default values are:
    • TCP: 3230 to 3243
    • UDP: 3230 to 3285
  8. Reset the firewall’s fixed ports from step 4 to be open (inbound and outbound) an redirect them to the IP address of your system.
  9. To accept incoming calls, open and redirect port 1720 TCP to the IP address of your system.
Note : 1720 TCP must be open outbound (which most firewalls will allow by default) for any calls to made.
  10. If you are using an external Gatekeeper, port 1719 TCP must be open outbound.

HI there..

to find out if your system and firewall is properly configured, you could call VTCTest (71.14.2.157(HDX).

This system is automatically answering your call, it will show you near end and far end video, show your audio indicator, send you content, disconnects and calls back your system. If all this steps are working fine, you´re safe.

Then you can have a look at the configuration @ the far end you mentioned before.
