Hi,

Will pressing the restore button removed the activated mutipoint option key ?

I lost my HDX admin password and lost my multipoint key record, now in need to reset the unit.

If you use the restore button, then you'll either be restoring "Restore Configuration" (if the system is powered on when you use the restore button) or you'll be performing "Factory Restore" (if the system is powered off when you use the restore button and then you power up the system with the button still pressed down).  Per Administrator's Guide http://supportdocs.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/global/documents/support/setup_maintenance/pro... , page 12-4:

Restoring Configuration If the system is not functioning correctly or you have forgotten the Admin Room Password, you can use the restore button to delete system settings and restart the system. This operation is similar to using the Reset System feature on the system Diagnostics screen with Delete System Settings enabled. The following items are saved:

• Current software version

• Option keys

• Directory entries

• CDR data and logs

If you perform a Factory Restore, all system settings will be deleted.

In other words, you should perform a "Restore Configuration" instead of a "Factory Restore" if you are simply trying to recover the password.

Again, from the Administrator's Guide, page 12-4:  To reset system configuration using the restore button: >> While the system is powered on, press and hold the restore button for at least 15 seconds. After 15 seconds, the system restarts and displays the setup wizard.

If you go on-line to the Polycom Support web site for activating a license you can also get a 'report' of your activation on a serial number.  That is how you get the licenses previously activated.
