HDX 7000 and Mac/OS X laptops

We are having a lot of problems connecting Mac/OS X 10.9 laptops to HDX 7000. It complains about wrong resolution but we are not able to change settings from OS X. Even tried with 3rd party "Display Menu" app.

Weirdly some Mac laptops work but most don't. In general quite disappointed with hooking up computers to HDX 7000, it's very picky with resolutions.

Re: HDX 7000 and Mac/OS X laptops

Hello OverLord,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

A good starting point for a post usually is to provide the currently used software version of the HDX and maybe even if it is a specific hardware variant.

In addition if yoo would mention the affected Mac models and if:

  1. They are using a real VGA output or
  2. If they are using some kind of Adapter and if an adapter if these are original Apple supplied adapters or some aftermarket variant.

The supported resolutions and frequencies are all listed in the admin guide and you did not provide details if you matched these.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Thanks for replying. I have tested VGA-DVI-I cable with original Apple DP-VGA adapter. Also with HDMI-DVI cable with original Apple DP-HDMI adapter. It used to work better with older OS X versions. For some reason it doesn't detect the display at all.

System information

Software Version:    Release - 3.1.2-35267
Model:    HDX 7000 HD
Hardware Version:    C

I noticed that latest software is 3.1.3 so I will ask our provider to upgrade. Sorry I sound a bit frustrated. In general units have worked well.
