We have an HDX-7000 system and we have just connect the Eagle Eye HD camera to a codec via an Polycom Cable 10mt.

The call works well but when i try to zoom the cam display an blak screen on the monitor.

Is this a cable problem? Can i set up additional parameters to use this cable?

Thanks

Make sure that the system is up to date on the software version, current is 3.1.  3.0.5 is a good alternative.

Once you are up to date on the software, look at the camera stats and see if the detected camera matches the camera you have connected to the system.

Does the camera work with the standard 3m cable?

Hard to tell if it is the camera or the cable.

Ok, did you mean to upgrade to the 3.1?

Yes the camera works fine with the 3m cable.

Thanks

The connection on the Polycom HDX series video input for cameras is

referred to as an HDCI connection. HDCI is an acronym for High Density

Camera Interface. The main input on the HDX series provides IR and

power for the Polycom EagleEye HD camera. Additional inputs or using

other cabling besides an HDCI cable will require the use of the optional

external power supply (1465-52621-036).

Polycom offers two standard Eagle Eye camera cables, a 3m (2457-23180-

003) and a 10m (2457-23180-010).

These two cables do not require the power supply. Both cables and camera have been in use for quite some time and this is not a known issue.

since the camera works on the short cable I would suspect a problem with the longer cable.  Contact Polycom Support for options.
