Goodmorning everybody,

I'm proposing Polycom HDX for technological renew to a prospect that already have an huge installation of old Aethra codecs and Radvision MCUs.

All the legacy codec and MCUs uses H.263 codec and 4CIF resolution (with 384kbps).

Since the project will last almost 3 years for the renew we should at least garantee the 4CIF 384kbps H.263 interoperabiliy between legacy and new HDX.

Doing some interoperability tests using an HDX 8000 (3.0.1) I've found that this codec talks in H.263 only in CIF resolution.

Do you have any idea if there is a workaround to force the 4CIF resolution in H.263. I've tried everything I knew:

- Set camera on sharpness

- Change the bandwidth

- Enable maximum resolution

- Look at the APIs the find some hidden commands

But nothing.

Anyone has any advice?

Thanks

Sorry the firmware version is 3.0.4.

This may have a bearing.....

By default HDX will try & negotiate best frame rate to the detriment, if necessary of resolution. HDX-HDX 4CIF to HD VSX-VSX 4CIF HDX-VSX HDX gets 4CIF but sends only CIF. Connect to the HDX using Telnet. enter following command. config preferresolution 0 true
Retest to VSX.
Done

Hi Pete,

thanks for your response.

From which manual have you taken that command?

Since I'd searched in the integrators guide as well as administrator guide and found nothing like that.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Gian.

I can't remember where I got it from.   I think it may haver been in a Polycom Knowledge Base article.

That's why I saved a note of it.  Hopet was useful.

Hi, guys!

I have the same issue. Where may I insert this command? Telnet or SSH?

Thanks!!

Hi Sbastos,

You need to connect on HDX using telnet. Remember to enable it before using your web interface.

Regards.

Hello Pete ... what are the commands beyond this that reported below (config preferresolution 0 true).
