Hi,

Our company currently has HDX8000 with Lync 2010 RTV license enabled. We are in the process of upgrading to Lync 2013 Server.

Is the existing Lync 2010 RTV license compatible with Lync 2013 server?

Is there a Lync 2013 RTV license?

And if there is, may I know what is the difference?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

RTV is the video protocol that Lycn uses for VC calls. In 2010 it runs RTV for VGA and 720p calls. In Lync 2013 RTV is needed for all calls because it only uses the RTV video protocol. The RTV key needed between Lync 2010 and 2013 is the same so you don't need to upgrade it on the HDX or Group Series you own. You just have to make sure it is active on the endpoint system.

Just to elaborate a bit.

The HDX version 3.1.2 and beyond is Lync 2013 "compatable" as compared to Lync 2010 which is "qualified"

The RealPresence group series is compatable with Lync 2010 and interoperable with Lync 2013.  We will submit Group Series for qualification with Lync 2013.
