Hello dvgaj,

The only Polycom HDX endpoint that supports HDMI is a HDX6000. All other HDX models are DVI only.

You may want to read up on the difference between DVI and HDMI => here <=

Yes - I know DVI, VGA etc don´t transfer sound

But according to what posted here of links of different product ptions, the one end is DVI and in the other end BNC(that is connected to the tv). So how can this get the sound through the DVI port that is connected to the HDX

2dvbgaj,

Change output format of  the HDX's Monitor 1 to YPbPr (Component)

You already have and connect audio cable 2 x RCA - 2 x RCA 🙂 (from Line OUT of HDX to Audio IN of TV)

please read already the admin guide

and quick setup tips

If Display EDID supports sound trought DVI, no problem transfer sound via HDMI-DVI cable (the same wires transmits sound and video)

I now got the cable - see Pic1

On Pic2 the DVI cable, as always, is connected to the HDMI port on the Monitor. I have tried to connect the new cable on the port undernearth, but still there is no sound?

Have of course also tried to remove the Dvi to HDMI cable, and attache the new one - but when going to component on the tv, there is still not any input source.

OK - found the issue. Did change the output format to component on HDX remote control. Now there is picture....but still no sound 😞

HP Recommended

The sound should be connected with a second cable  - 2 RCA - 2 RCA, which you have already had (Red and White connectors)
