Has anyone else seen this.

Web browse to an HDX & select a page that requires HTTPS.

Try changing something & IE goes off with the faries.

The same activity using Firefox is OK.

The issue presented itself whilst we were trying to remote provision a Paris endpoint to become remote managed by a London CMA.

Whilst we can set this up using Firefox, we're a bit nervous that the CMA HTTPS Port443 traffic may not work correctly

as all the IE 8 or 9 port 80 stuff is fine.  Even usaing IE8 with the certificate imported doesn't work around this.

Any feedback welcome.

Basically, IE is crap, but has to be supported due to the deal Polycom and MS have. Firefox works fine in most scenarios

FireFox or any other browser that is not IE is not supported. The others may work but there may be some issues with some features. (what is the difference you might say).  IE is OFFICIALLY supported, engineering will only look at reported problems with IE.

With IE https logging into an HDX you get 'There is a problem with the website security certificate'.

Just hit 'Continue to this website (not recommended).

Now MicroSoft has recently released an update that does cause the browser to freeze.

Microsoft Security Update KB2585542 that is causing the Web UI to freeze while attempting to log into the HDX/Codec,

Either remove this patch manually or.

Thanks Ken.  I'll take a look. IE is part of the problem, Firefox isn't.

The spooky thing is that the same IE browsing into my HDX (& any others we have encountered) with the same 3.03.1-19040

doesn't exhibit this issue.  Perhaps it just doesn't like the French/Parisiennes!

I'll let you know.

Hi sharps.

Yes. We got around it with Firefox to tell the Paris EP to register with the Lond CMA.  Since then it seems to be quite happy.

We'll have to monitor as time moves on & more Euro cities roll out, but so far the Port 443 stuff seems OK.

Thanks for your feedback.
