I understand that we need RealConnect to join our own scheduled Teams meeting(s) using our own on-premises RealPresence Group series devices and that standard video conference equipment outside our company can join as well.

Is RealConnect also required if we want to join Teams meetings hosted by external parties that don't have such a solution in place?

Hi @KD@STQ

Yes. There are two ways to do it. Either that other company needs to have RealConnect provisioned in their M365 tenant or you need to host Teams meeting and invite them to your meeting. There is no other way.
