Hello,

We use a Visio system with Realpresence Group 500. All configuration is correct and working (including sip server and calendar service) and the firmware is up to date. Skype mode is enabled and the controller is the Realpresence touch tablet.
We are having trouble joining skype meetings with invitation from outside. Indeed, the appointment appears in the calendar, but the join button is not present. We can join these meetings from a classic web interface, but not from the Visio system. When we make requests for skype meetings internally, the join button is there and we can join the meeting.
I remain at your disposal if you need more detailed information about our configuration.
Thank you in advance for your answers

Hello @IG6 ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

Both the communities Must Read First and the FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.

This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.

As a reminder the basic information asked for:

  • Provide the exact Software Version of your Codec
  • Provide the Codec Model
  • Provide the Call Platform (aka openSIP,Teams, Skype for Business Online, Skype for Business on Premise, Lync or H.323)
  • Additional Poly Infrastructure (RPRM,PDMS,RPCS,RMX or CMA)
  • If possible provide a Log and either attach them or use the Code Tag.Consult the Troubleshooting Section found within the FAQ if applicable
  • If possible provide the Serial Number of the device
  • Provide details for example if the issue is a day 1 issue or only happened after an upgrade or any other relevant details
  • For questions around Support please check here

Whilst providing some of these details may not directly impact any possible answer the community can provide, it does enable Poly to have an overview of the current software used. In addition, providing all details at the same time allow us to check logs or look up potential support partners if an issue needs to come into support. It also enables us to verify the entitlement for using features.

Please ensure you always check the FAQ's and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up posts.

Example >here< or >here<

I would assume your Exchange Server strips the >TNEF< information. I suggest you work with your IT Team on this.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier

Do you have external federation in place with the external entities who are hosting these meetings? If not you will not be able to join.

Yes, you can join via web interface because that uses the Skype web app, but you will not be able to join from a client (in this case your Group Series) that is registered to your infrastructure.

Thank you for your reply.
We watched to move our Office 365 domain from managed to federated. Is that what needs to be done ? If so, should each external domain be added for this to work ?
We have look at the many topics on the forum, but we have not found a solution to our problem. Should we also configure TNEF filtering on our exchange server, or does it only concern the sender ?
Thank you in advance for your answers, and thanks again for your help.

You'll have to either enable open federation or to put specific domains on the allowed domain whitelist for being able to join external SfB meetings from your video endpoint.

Please make also sure that TNEF (Transport Neutral Encapsulation Format) is enabled.

By default room mailboxes have the DeleteComments parameter enabled which deletes the entire contents of the message body when you'll forward received external SfB meeting invitations to your room account and then the join button doesn't appear.
