Does anyone know if it Is possible to share content from the Lync client when connected to the HDX?

Thanks for the assistance.

Hi Steve...

that´s not possible.HDX does not support Lync's content protocols

Uwe is abolutely right.  HDX & other vendors use H.239 which is a dual stream protocol for Video & content.  Lync doesn't support this & HDX doesn't suport Lyncs RDP.  There is a workaround for HDX though.  You can run People & Content IP on the Lync Client as a seperate app & connect to the HDX thus sending the Lync Desktop to the HDX.  Video would be lost whilst content is being pushed.

HDX to Lync P&CIP or VGA connection to the HDX can be used but since Lync only supports single stream video would be lost until content is dropped.  Ideally the HDX should be RTV enabled.

People & Content IP (PPCIP) can be downloaded from support.polycom.com > Documents & Downloads > Telepresence & Video under any of the HDX models.

To further clarify H.239 content sent from the HDX to a Lync client is supported (the HDX replaces the people stream with the content stream and the Lync user sees the content in the video window, not in the Lync 'stage' window.)

Content sent from Lync to an HDX (via the Share > Desktop/Application/Monitor/etc menu) is not currently supported, as described in the previous replies.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't figure this out. 🙂

I bring my laptop into the conference room.  We have an HDX8000 wth a dual screen setup.

I start the Lync meeting from my laptop and share the content from there. (with audio disabled)

I then drag the polycom lync user into my meeting.

I then exit the video conference screen (with the call still running) and go into 'Local Presentation".  I set the right display to my laptop and leave the left display as the "far end".

The lync users at the far end see the active speaker (which is often the conference room) in the video window and the content in the Lync stage area.

I've tried using the "send to far end" option to send content from the Polycom, but it's tough to see the content in the video window, even when maximized to full screen.

Jeff, Community !

Have any change already come with Lync 2013 and RP/HD series regarding Screen Sharing functionality ?

Will I see content on HDX/RP devices from Lync 2013 meeting event and vice verse.

Here is some publc release : http://e27.co/2013/02/25/polycom-and-microsoft-lync-provide-new-generation-content-sharing-applicati...
