We bought our Polycom CX5000 back in late 2010 early 2011.  We installed a new laptop computer in our conference room recently and tried to hold a meeting.  We noticed that the webcam was not being recognized in the Go To Meeting session although everything is plugged in.

We are suspecting that the power data box may be the problem as it was not lit up and seem to have a smell.  Is this normal for the power box to give out after so much time.  What would it cost to replace it?

Can you give me some feedback?  Thanks so much.

Hello ,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The quickest way to check the unit is working should be to look at the LCD and also the red lit Handset button.

If that is all working then then unit is OK.

Try if your LYNC client can see the camera and test the Video there as this is the compatible device for the CX5000.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
