Hello everyone,
Unfortunately my English is very bad, so I have to use a translation program.
In addition, video conferencing is new territory for me and I have no idea about it here.
And Polycom support asked me to describe my problem here.
We bought the Polycom CX5100 3D camera through a company. It delivered, assembled and tested the camera. That's all they could do.
We use it on a Windows 10 machine and with Skye for Business.
So far everything works, but we don't have a solution how to plan video conferences and invite people to them.
We often have video conferencing with government agencies. With them we have to plan our appointments well in advance by e-mail and then have to send a link to participate in the videoconference.
Is there any software here? How do you do it?
Unfortunately I didn't find anything in the FAQ. If I missed something here, I would like to apologize for it.
Thank you very much for your help
Michael

Hello @Verband Region Rhein-Neckar ,

No issue, usually you would just use outlook and create a Skype for Business Meeting and invite who you need.

This obviously requires you to have Skype for Business and an open Federation to invite external partners. But again this is something our Partner Microsoft would need to advise you on.

There may be other partners that can utilize the CX5100 camera but there may be limitations what their clients can utilize aka 360 panoramic video etc.

Best Regards

Hello @Verband Region Rhein-Neckar ,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The CX5100 is a 360 degree USB camera which was developed for usage with Microsoft Skype for Business.

It can be utilized with a Mac or a PC Skype for Business client which on their end can control Exchange Invites to internal users or if federated to external users.

The device itself does not have any capabilities to initiate any invite or similar and always needs a PC connected to it.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello @SteffenBaierUK,

first of all many thanks for the quick answer.

We are aware that the camera itself or the included software can generate and send invitations.

We would therefore like to know which software we need to generate invitations.

We need a solution that creates an individual invitation link that we can send and that only works for this single videoconference.

We would then send the invitations via Outlook.

Thank you very much.

Yours sincerely

Hello @Verband Region Rhein-Neckar ,

You may have misunderstood my reply.

The Poly CX5100 Camera is unable to send any form of invite. It is a USB camera only.

The Client on a PC or Mac or the underlying exchange infrastructure would be utilized to do this.

As this has nothing to do with Poly please contact Microsoft as the camera is optimized to work with their technology..

I want to apologize again for my bad English.
I clearly understood and knew that Poly couldn't send invitations.
I had hoped to get software etc. suggested here to solve my problem.
