We have just recentyl purchased a Polycom CX5100, to use for video conferences with Skype. I got a question from one of our employees: is it possible to use the Polycom CX5100 for a video conference where the meeting is set up via Webex? It would be a situation where one of our employees would be invited to a video conferenece from e.g. one of our clients (i.e. we don't hose the conference ourselves). So, does anyone know if this is possible?

Hello KristianR,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The CX5100 and the CX5500 are optimized for LYNC / Skype for Business clients and any other application may only be able to use the active speaker camera feed but not the whole room.

Usually the Release Notes and/or the Admin Guide list any additional tested services.

I just tested my Polycom CX5500 with WebEx. It works as a static camera, but does not follow the active speaker like it does in Skype For Business.

Hi Steffen

Is there a plan to incorporate "whole room view" using CX5xxx with Webex?

I think there is great potential...

Thanks, Claudio

Hello @ClaudioS,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Any new features must be requested via a business plan.

I explain this here:
