Hello,

I am planning to purchase a G7500 and a camera for a small conference room.

I will have clients and employees using device mode from the conference table, so I will need a USB extender.

Does the extender that I purchase need to be USB 3.0? Im having trouble finding information about the specifications that will be necessary for it to work

to sum it up: What can you tell me about which, if any, USB extension options will work alongside Device Mode?

for clarification, the device mode port on the G7500 is a USB-C.

Hello @Alexrg  ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

I worked with a customer in the UK that uses the following:

  • USB-C to USB-C cable on the desk to a Targus Dock180EUZ-52
  • A 10m LOGITECH STRONG USB CABLE plugged into the USB-A port of the Targus Dock180EUZ-52 and UBS-C to Studio X / G7500
  • A professional long HDMI Cable between Targus Dock180EUZ-52 and Studio X / G7500

For the latest Apple or PC connect only a USB-C cable and have both USB and HDMI.

Ensure the PC or Mac have the latest Display Port drivers installed

Hello Steffen Baier,

I have a project for a customer in a large venue where technical area is about 30 meters from the user's PC. Is it possible to extend the G7500 USBC with an USB extender on CATxx cable? And what is usbc category on G7500 ? USB2 or USB3 ? This not clear on technical specs.

The purpose is to swap an old HDX installed and already cabled in the technical area with a G7500. It would be much more convenient to extend one usb cable than several audio and video cables.
