RealPresence Mobile software allows it to be used without registering to an H.323 gatekeeper or SIP registrar, why does RealPresence Desktop not do the same?  I understand capabilities like content sharing and directories might be unavailable, but if someone doesn't have a gatekeeper/registrar to use, they could still make calls using a public gatekeeper/registrar to look up the destination alias via direct URI dialing.

It works standalone as well.it is up to you how you want to use it

Not without a license key. RPM can be used without a license but RPD appears to require a license to run in standalone mode.

It also works in standalone mode for 30 days trial

JoeV,

Yes, the Desktop app is limited to a 30 day trial without an individual license or registering to the RealPresence Resource Manager. This is the way the product is sold and supported.
