Hi!

I'm using a trial version of the RealPresence Version 2.3 on Windows 8.  It is on a dedicated DSL line specifically for this computer.  I work at a school and we have been recommended this software to use as a video conferencing for some classes that are being broadcast from a different site.  If the trial version works well, we will be buying the full version.  However, right now I cannot connect to the far site.  I'm assuming it has something to do with firewalls but I can't find anything specifically about port forwarding for the RealPresence Desktop....only other versions.  I tried setting my computer as a DMZ so that it was outside the firewall but this did nothing.  Please help!  I needed this set up yesterday!!!

Hello apipkens-smith,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The RPD release notes => here <= contain on page 12 all the relevant Inbound and Outbound Ports that would need to be forwarded from your DSL router to the PC in question.

Please also consider any windows firewalls as sometimes, even if disabled, an exception must be created.

There are several post's within this community discussing firewall and port forwarding issues.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
