I've been using the trial version of RealPresence Desktop for about a week, and can dial out with no trouble, but nobody has had luck dialing in to my ip address.

Running Windows 7 Professional, Ports 3230-3239 open, firewall inbound rules set up for "Any IP Address" local and remote, Profiles "Private" and "Public" checked, Protocol types "TCP" and "UDP" local and remote set to "all ports".

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello Dave Ruch,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

These are just the media ports but your require 1719 for signaling.

Please check the release notes as all used ports are listed within.

Thanks for your reply Steffen.  The release notes list a range of inbound ports that are "supported" (1720, 1719, 3230-3250 TCP & UDP), 3238 and 5060.  Does "supported" mean I need to have all of those ports open?

Hello Dave Ruch,

5060 is for SIP signaling and I assume 3238 is already covered by 3230-3250.

I just had 1719 and 1720 opened by my ISP, and then tried a test call with another location.  They were still not able to dial in to me.

how the VC call is routing up,is there any firewall or gatekeep involve between call?

Have you tried with another desktop/laptop?

is this issue with particular user/participante or no one can dial you in?

Nobody has been able to dial in. I was told by the sales rep yesterday that I need to purchase the full version in order to have people be able to dial into me, so that's what I've done. Will install the license key on Monday and see how it goes.

Hello Dave Ruch,

the Trial Version has to my knowledge no such restrictions.

This must either be a firewall issue on your end or from the customer end.

A quick test with a second PC in your Network running another trial version should verify this.

You can also try one of these test systems => here <=
