[Software] Poly Studio X and G7500 3.7.0 was released

Hello all,

 

we just released software 3.7.0.352042 for the G7500, Studio X50, and Studio X30

IMPORTANT NOTE:

  • This release does not yet contain the well-known no Video issue with our Partner Microsofts Teams application. Our partner Microsoft is still working on this and any issues should be reported to Microsoft

  • Our Partner Microsoft previously released the Microsoft Teams update via the Teams Admin Center TAC aka 2021 Update #2C aka 1449/1.0.96.2021082703

  • Poly Microsoft Teams version included in the 3.7.0 software 1449/1.0.96.2021070803

Poly announces the release of Poly VideoOS 3.7.0 software. This Poly VideoOS software build also
contains the following device software versions:

● Poly TC8 3.7.0
● Poly Microphone IP Adapter 3.0.0
● Poly IP Table Microphone 3.0.0
● Poly EagleEye Cube USB camera 1.3.1
● Poly Studio E70 camera 1.0.2

 

Poly VideoOS 3.7.0 includes the following features:

  • Digital Signage
  • Updated Partner Applications
  • Support for QSC Core Series Audio Processors
  • Configuring Network Settings During Out-of-Box Setup
  • Studio X50 and Studio X30 Camera Enhancements
  • Configuring Wi-Fi Settings from the System Device Settings
  • Capturing Video Remotely
  • Button Command-Line API Command Updates

Poly and Microsoft are committed to delivering the highest quality solutions.  We are pleased to share that Poly and Microsoft engineering teams have fixed several reported issues on Poly Studio X.  For optimal experience, please ensure you are running the latest Poly and Microsoft software.  Microsoft has officially posted an update to TAC that addresses the following issues. 

 

Resolved Issues:

 

  • No Self view and TX video issues
  • While using proximity join, video frozen when TC8 joins the meeting
  • Mute status on TC8 is out of sync with X30 when joined to a Teams Meeting
  • Not able to find external user from meet-now
  • Video during a scheduled meetup is not visible sometimes on remote clients
  • Video after proximity join is not visible sometimes on remote clients
  • Video during a P2P call is not visible sometimes on remote clients
  • Video during meet now with another participant is not visible sometimes on remote clients

 

 

Requirements:

 

Minimum 3.6 release on the Poly Studio X 

Microsoft hotfix update via TAC Teams app version 1449/1.0.96.2021092701

Update 2 regarding the Provider mode

 

For RPRM:

               Delete attribute in management provider select field from your policy > click Save.

               For Poly Lens:

               Navigate to Manage > Policy

               > Select the policy you are using - Site or Model Policy

               > Select My Settings

               > Find the Provider setting and delete

               This should revert the provider setting to defaults.

  • If that does not resolve the rebooting, please open a ticket with Poly for further escalation.

Hello all,

 

Just as an FYI our partner Microsoft has released an updated Teams APK version 1449/1.0.96.2021100102 which should address issues with pairing around the TC8 product and the Studio X.

 

This is an issue on the Microsoft application end and no Poly firmware is updated and once the TC8 is updated via the TAC you will have to re-pair the TC8 and the Studio X.

 

From the Microsoft Message Center:

 

Message Summary

This hotfix will improve touch console pairing resiliency on devices manufactured by Poly. Firmware will not be updated at this time.

When this will happen:

Rollout has started and will complete by mid October.

How this will affect your organization:

This fix will improve touch console pairing resiliency, especially in unstable network environments and across power outages. Touch consoles will automatically restore pairing if lost due to covered scenarios. No new functionality will be introduced as a part of this update.

This update will be delivered through Teams admin center as an app-only update (Teams APK version 1449/1.0.96.2021100102) and will not include new firmware.

Note: Touch console will be unpaired after update completes.

What you need to do to prepare:

No explicit action is necessary. You might want to update your documentation as appropriate.
