Having painstakingly worked to get my HDX 6000 to accept software upgrade via a USB flashdrive, I discovered the unit is picky as to which flashdrive it will accept.  There is also a variable regarding what computer I used to format the drive with the 32 FAT format and ensure there were no hidden system files resident on the flashdrive.
