Hi,

We have problem with some PCs when they are connected to the RPG500.

The users are trying to share their desktop but the RPG500 displays this message (also attached as an image)

"This content is protected and cannot be displayed or shared"

They are not trying to show anything else than their PC background.

Any ideas why this happens to some of our users?

I tried to lower the resolution but it didn't work.

However i did find the problem, I changed the HDMI-cable to another one since this problem only occured on one Polycom system togehter with a specific PC-modell

Hello Swepete,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First"

In addition it would be useful to let us know if everybody is using the same type of PC, the same OS, a HDMI or VGA cable etc.

Most likely the PC is sending HDCP, High Definition Content Protection, and the codec has to follow that information.

HDCP basically is a way for content to not be reused, since the idea behind videoconferencing is to take it from one place and replicate it to others it is in violation of the HDCP rules.  You need to check with your PC manufacture to see if they have a wayto disable HDCP.  You can try using a lower resolution also on the output port of you PC.
