Hello,

I received a following question from our customer about li-ion USB battery of Group series Remote Control.

Question:
The customer always leave the USB battery charging while not in use.
Is there any concerns caused by overcharging? or no problem?

I appreciate If there is any advice.

Thank you,

Absolutly not necessary.  The battery will go a long time, months, of average use, on a charge.  You are alerted ahead of time when the battery is low.  Even if it goes dead you can charge if for a couple of minutes and it will be good for 30-50 button pushes.

IF you recharge the battery once a month it will still recharge to 85% of its original capacity after about 300 charges (about 25 years).  It can be recharged about 1000 times before not being able to hold a charge.

Under what we consider normal usage the battery should need to be recharged every 2.5 - 3 months.  At this recharge level the battery should maintain full charging capacity for over 7 years.

  • After 300 recharge cycles, the battery pack will charge to approximately 85% of its original capacity.
  • After 500 recharge cycles, the battery pack will charge to approximately 70% of its original capacity.

From the GS Admin Guide:

The low battery notification returns after you dismiss other notifications, and is not displayed while the system is in a call.
