We are configuring a system using an Extron 422 pic-in-pic processor to send two camera signals simultaneously (voideo arraignment system, one side needs to have judge and attorney pix available to jail side). I have both cameras connected and they are visible on the other endpoint, but I am unable to get PTZ control on either camera.
Connections are:
Camera 1 connector to 8pin/svid adapter--s vid out of adapter to video 1 in on Extron
Camera 2 connector to 8pin/svid adapter--s vid out of adapter to video 2 in on Extron
video out of extron to camera 1 in on VSX 7000e.
camera 1 out of VSX 7000e to Extron distribution amp--outputs from dist amp feed displays.
Can call out and in to system. All other functions work. Have tried connecting 8 pin out of camera adapter to DB15 port and to RS-232 port with no success.

I was able to use the rs-232 port instead of the db15 port for PTZ contrrol on camera 1. In this case, dual camera display is more important than far site control of near camera--need to be able to zoom and pan at near site for different attorney/judge locations in different courtrooms. Am now able to see both cameras at far site and see both cameras on near site home screen. Thanks for the response.

Try this:
1. Go to System > Admin Settings > General Settings > Serial Port.
set RS-232 Mode to Sony PTZ camera control and specify which
camera is associated with this port. (Second Camera, first camera you should connected to DB15 port)
2. Double check your cables and connections
3. You have to power on cameras first, then VSX
