VSX 8000 required a factory reset and we used the procedures listed in a post from Marcux on 10-06-2011 (URL: http://community.polycom.com/t5/Video-Endpoints/VSX8000-hardware-factory-reset/td-p/4113.  Everything worked very well and we had a DHCP IP address assigned.  Performed a fresh load of software (Softupdate) from network attached PC computer.  When the image load was completed (100%), about 10 seconds later the system UI stated "Erasing Flash" and following a reboot the system was obviously unable to load an Out of the Box sequence.  Any ideas on how to break this cycle.  PS. we did not select "Earase Flash Memory" in softupdate.

Tried a few more attempts following the ERFL process, and noted during the softupdate process once the UI states file transfer completed, the UI interface flashes for about 1 second "Backing Up..." and immediately goes to status "Erasing Flash File System".  Once rebooted the system obtains a DHCP IP address and stills states "Flash Mount Failed."  We have tried installing both 8.7 and 9.0.6.2 with the appropriate upgrade key code for the serial numbered unit; both softupdates acted the same.
