I recently received my X30 and TC8 - used the cabling that comes with the units aside form a Symbol POE injector for the TC8 as I don't have a POE switch at home.

Both X-Series and TC8 never get past the spinning logo??? I remove their Network cables and they boot to "Discovering Network" screens but nothing more.

Has anyone seen anything liek this before? I DOA'd te first units for this behaviour but now it's happening on the second lot there ust be something quirky about my home network - but I'm stuck as to what that might be...

Thoughts or ideas?

Hello @Fatman ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

Is your network using LLDP to assign devices to a certain VLAN or anything?

The X30 on its own should come up after around 2 minutes or so without the need initially for a TC8. I suggest this should come into support if you can connect to another network or so to get logs of the unit.

Please ensure to set the Diagnostic > Logs > System Log Settings > Log Level to debug when testing this on another network.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Hi Steffan,

I@m just using a Vodafone home ADSL router - nothing clever going on on the network.

I can't even get to take logs as the unit MAC appears in teh Router DHCP lease table but I can never access it on the browser and also it jjst never boots to anything unless I don't plug the network cable in and then I get the Network error. Therefore I wouldn't get logs as I never get into it!

I don't really want to DOA it again as it's highly unlikely this is a faulty unit in my opinion.

Further thoughts? I can't test it on a different network as I don't have access to the office / labs etc.

Hi @Fatman

there is no way to write logs on a USB stick to my knowledge without prior Web Access.

You would only be able to test this on a different network.

We had similar issue with brand new Poly X30 related to defective network interface card. The unit was brand new from the supplier. We thought there is a WiFi interface available on Poly X30, but were not able to find it anywhere under Poly X30 menu. At the end of the day we had to get an RMA from Poly. Double check network LED's on Poly X30 if there are active or not. Also it might be related to dhcp when the unit does nor get an ip address.
