On the RP group 500 and 700, can the units be configured to automatically push laptop content to local TV monitor upon plugging into HDMI? Is there a way to do this without automatically sharing the content with the far side and requiring a remote/RP touch command to do so?

Can the RP group 500 and 700 be configured to send "no signal" out of outputs while in sleep mode as was the case with the HDX units? Can the Trio 8800 Visual+ be configured to send "no signal" while in sleep mode as well?

Hello @DavidBox,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

In case of the Trio as an example the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

Please provide these details for all units used.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Assuming current 6.1.5 software for the RP Group Series.

On the RP group 500 and 700, can the units be configured to automatically push laptop content to local TV monitor upon plugging into HDMI?  /Answer/ Yes, see the Integrator's reference manual for the "autoshowcontent" command

Is there a way to do this without automatically sharing the content with the far side and requiring a remote/RP touch command to do so? /Answer/  not while in a call.  There is no way to 'preview' content prior to sending it to the far side on the system.  The preview would be on the device sending the content.

Can the RP group 500 and 700 be configured to send "no signal" out of outputs while in sleep mode as was the case with the HDX units? /Answer/ Yes, please refer to the Admin Guide or search 'sleep' on the Web UI.

To go to the IRG or the Admin Guide go to www.polycom.com/videodocumentation

Can the Trio 8800 Visual+ be configured to send "no signal" while in sleep mode as well?
