Hi all,

we have 2 group series loaded with latest version 6.1, skype integration license and Multipoint licenses.

at one site, the group series is attached to Polycom touch control device, which make it easy to register the SIP office 365 account.

At the other site, we don't have polycom touch control, but ipad loaded with crestron software.

how can i enable skyepe mode + sip, using third party control software, rather than polycom touch control device?

if i enable the sip account at the site without the polycom touch control, it logins in to the sip account and change my device to "skyp mode", but then it makes the device useless, since it complains about "not having control device attached"

Thanks

Hello Avishay,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The GroupSeries has not finalized the Skype for Business Online / Office365 qualification yet so your setup is not officially supported unless you are part of the Polycom TAP program.

Once this is officially qualified you will need a Polycom Touch.

Please work with your Polycom reseller on a Feature Request if this is not what you want.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hi

Thanks for a quick answer.

we use Crestron solution in order to control a multimedia room, which includes projectos, TV and other "smart room" features.

it seems to me over complicated and redudadnt to add another touch control device just for the sake of skype mode within polycom.

I must say, i am deeply disapointed with this attitude , because when polycom announced a year ago, that skype for business  365 integration with polycom will be available within a few months,  Polycom didn't mention that the requirement to enable this feature was to attach polycom control.

we already  prucahsed skype integration licesnes, we have waited and it was posponed a few times.

finally when it arrives, it has the limitation of using only polycom devices,

which make polycom/skype integration irrelevant.

Hello Avishay,

I cannot comment on the need for this and suggest you work with a Polycom reseller and / or Polycom SE directly on this.

Hello Avishay,

Did you finally find out a solution using Crestron control or the Polycon touch pannel was needed finally?

I would appreciate your feedback since I am experiencing the same problem in our site.

Many thanks

Hello Daniel,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The current only and the official way to run a Office 365 / Skype for Business Online account with a GroupSeries is via the Polycom Touch.

Anything else would be a feature request via your Polycom reseller.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
