Hello,

I'm new here and just struggle with a call.

I dont understand even the help topics here 😞

Cant see or hear the other side,

because I#m using a trial version there is no support- or at least I cant find it!?

Whats your advice to get this going ?

Kind regards,

markus

Most likely there is a firewall issue on your side where your firewall doesn't understand H.323 protocol.   Try putting your system into the DMZ of your firewall.   That MAY help..

Hello Gary,

thx for your reply. I have my firewall switched off (after looking here in the forum) :-))  , my macbook pro is updated

and when I ring a test number provide by poly I cant see or hear anything.

Is there anything else you would suggest or any support from polycom?

Im in a hotel -could it be a network problem from the hotel- skype btw is working fine !?

Kind regards

Well, YOUR firewall (on the PC/Laptop) is turned off but the Hotel Firewall is not turned off.    Does your hotel have an option when you can get a Public Internet address ?   Some do (at extra cost).    If you can do that, it "might" work.   Worth a try.

Good luck,

Markus,

With a correctly configured Polycom infrastructure, you can call thru those Hotel firewalls with no issue.   Like Skype, you must be registered with that infrastructure to pass thru the security issues you have experienced.

Allright- could life with that.

Have a nice day,

best,

markus
