I have a question about the consoule interconnect cable 2200-40115-001 that connects 2polycom IP7000 units together I have the 2 ip7000s the cable and the MIM  with the 10 pin rj45 style connector when i connect the 3 units together i cant get the second IP7000 to power the part number on the box of the console interconnect cable is correct but the part number printed on the bag that the cable is packaged in is 2457-2321-001 according to the conference link guide this cable is (RealPresence Group Series microphone array cable. Connects Group Series microphone to Group Series microphone or Group Series microphone to Group Series codec. Not compatible with HDX table microphone array due to different overmold. Cross-over cable.) i figure thats the wrong cable for this application so i ordered another cable (2200-40115-001) from a completlly different vender guess what it also has the  2457-2321-001 cable inside the box these are new unopened boxes so whats up?imageimageimage

Hello BobSimms,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I checked with Product Management and here is their answer:

Just checked and customer has the correct cable 2200-40115-001  contains 2457-23216-001  (Customer was missing a digit in the cable part number- middle set of numbers should be 5 digits)

This is the part on the pricelist

2200-40115-001

Cable - Console Interconnect Cable for SoundStation IP 7000, 25ft/7.6m CLink 2 cable with Walta to Walta connectors. Connects two (2) SoundStation IP 7000 consoles together.

So, if connected together properly, the second unit should power up.  I think customer should contact for service if basic troubleshooting doesn’t resolve the issue.

  • Has customer tried powering the second unit directly from MIM to see if it powers up on its own?, and then determine if the first unit is powered by the CLink2 cable? (CLink2 cable with walta connectors is what the console interconnect cable is, and the overmold is not an issue for SSIP7000, only an issue for the HDX and Group Series Mic Arrays)
  • Is the walta connector seated all the way into the plug?
  • Is the walta connector plugged in the right orientation?  (There have been cases where customers manage to plug in the walta plug upside down – in that case I believe there is protection from IP7000 unit being damaged by electrical current – but its possible that the second unit was damaged if walta plugged in upside down)
