I've been testing 4.x firmware on Soundpoint IP335as we need paging features.

I've tried 4.0.3 and 4.0.2 and am having the same issues on both.

DHCP on 4.0.3 it fails most of the time. The phones will not accept an IP different from the one it first pulls from DHCP. The only way I've been able to get the phones to use a new IP is to default the phones device settings. I've tried with two phones on three networks with 3 different types of DHCP servers. I see the request, see the DHCP server send ACK, but no IP address on the phone. The only way I've been able to get the phone to pull DHCP after upgrading to 4.0.3 is to reset device settings. It seems the phone will not change it's IP 4.0.3.

4.0.2 will pull an IP but it's greatly delayed, over 20seconds, which makes registration fail.

Also on both codes, my registration password is 8 characters with the 8th character a '9'. When I put the 9 in the 'OK' button goes away, so I can't save the password. Every now and then the OK will stay, but it's rare. It's the combination of my password it seems. I can backspace delete/change other characters. After doing this a few times, sooner or later the OK stays.

I'm doing all this so I can have paging, but uneasy with the firmware. I like the ping diagnostic, but I can't  4.0.3 at all reliable.

Any sugguestions?

Hello knevyn,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I have never heard of anything like this.

Since UCS 4.0.x the way a network connection is acquired has changed and I would strongly suggest you raise a ticket with Polycom Support via your Polycom reseller.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
