Hello,

I'm trying to configure the intercom feature on my polycom VVX410. Using the default configfiles that come with the firmware files, I configured the phone with only the basics as Im testing this. All i have done is add registration information, besides that I followed the Admin Guide to the letter for configuring Intercom.

If I press the intercom button and call an extention it rings busy immidiately, I see no sip signaling whatsoever. Is there a more detailed explination as to what needs to be done to get this to work?

Hello w4cker23,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It would have been useful to provide us with a backup as this way we can only assume what configuration you used and what is actually on the phone.

In addition a Log of the phone showing the SIP traffic would also be useful.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Greetings SteffenBaierUK,

Thank you for the response!

I have read the linked post and wass till running into issues, I do think I've narrowed it down to an issue with our proxy denying the packet however will include my config files just incase and for future reference.

Note this is a test setup with two VVX410's connected to a 3550 POE switch, I have redacted some info however I assure you the phones do register and complete calls.

Update,

I had opened a ticket with our PBX BroadSoft to get their input on this as well only to find that the Alert- info sip is not one of the accepted SIP signals, is their anyway of getting this feature or something comperable to it on a VVX? The closest I've found is the page option but that broadcast to many and you cant chose the channels on the phone.

Hello w4cker23,

It would be news to me for BroadWorks not to support the SIP INFO header but it may be a restriction in your environment / setup.

I advise you for any PTT related questions to check the <ptt> section within the Admin Guide matching your currently used software version.
