Hi all, I was playing around with the settings on my Polycom 601 SIP and then I noticed everytime i picked my phone up, "service unavailable" would appear on the display. Additionally when i look on the line information and service information it says "(not registered)" next to the info. Everything else seems to be working fine. Other 601 SIPs work on this phone jack too. What's going on?

Hello @flavvari,

The SoundPoint IP 601 has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase. Support for the product was available until 03/31/2013

We sold this to Dimension Data Australia Pty Limited back in 27/11/2007

The unit itself doesn't even run a current software so I suggest you get whoever provides your service to check what the problem is.

Hello @flavvari,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

In addition is this a SPIP601 or a VVX601

Please also include if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC / Skype for Business server.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

Hello @flavvari,

I doubt they will be able to help you as they sold this device around 11 years ago.

You need to work with whoever provides the service to these phones. This must be some kind of SIP provider.
