Hello,

We have a buch of Polycom VVX 311 phones running firmware version 5.4.

We are able to stablish a 3-way call using the "Confrnc" softkey on the phones, however we would like to enable a  "Barge In" or "Whisper" feature, so that a third phone can join an on-going call without having one of the 2 call participants manually set the conference via the "Confrnc" softkey.

This scenario could be implemented with the SIP "Join" header (RFC 3911) but the only information I have been able to obtain about Polycom support for this is that "implementation may be based on a specific interoperability partner":

https://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP-SIP-Phones/Polycom-650-and-BargeIn/m-p/39188

Is there any way in which we can achieve this?

Does none of the Polycom UC versions support the JOIN header as defined on RFC 3911?

Does somebody knows if the "interoperability partner" mentioned on the thread referenced is some sort of third-party application we can purchase that will allow us to achive our goal?

Thanks for your help,

Hello @otto.ortega,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The Interoperability partner for the Barge Feature is Broadsoft.

Are we violating any RFC ?
