Hello All.

I had AVAYA 1692 H323 Conference Phone.

Unfortunately Avaya allows only H323 protocol  for works.

As I understand Avaya 1692  is OEM of Polycom SoundStation IP 4000.

I want to connect  AVAYA`s phone to Asterisk PBX via SIP protocol.

I was found SIP firware  on support site:

https://support.polycom.com/content/support/north-america/usa/en/support/voice/soundstation-ip-serie...
y question is how can to upload new firmware (SIP) to Avaya 1692?

Do have someone an experience in this action?

Please help.

Hello @VMike,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The phone may look the same but it is not. You cannot convert the Phone from an Avaya 1692 into a Polycom SIP phone.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier
