BLF Pickup Issue

I was very excited to read that UC 5.3 finally introduced an audible tone when BLF lines ring while an attendant is on the phone.  However, I'm having weird issue in general with answering BLFs.  If the attendant is not on the phone they can hit the Pickup button and answer the incoming call on a BLF just come.  However, if they are on the phone and a call to a BLF line comes in, the screen splash comes up, it beeps in their ear but they cannot answer it.  Pressing pickup does nothing, and "Service Unavailable" pops up in the top right of the the display.  This is only an issue if they are on the phone.  Any other time it works perfectly for any BLF monitored line.  My setting for call pickup is call.directedCallPickupString="**" and call.directedCallPickupMethod="legacy" (I have also tried native - same Service Unavailable error).

Any ideas?  If I could get this working I would have a near perfect setup for admins/executives.

Thanks.
