I am setting up autoprovisioning for VVX301s

I have a <mac>.cfg file as follows:

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
<APPLICATION
APP_FILE_PATH="<fullpath>/firmware/vvx301/sip.ld"
CONFIG_FILES="<fullpath>/<mac>-set.cfg"
</APPLICATION>

so the phone checks and loads the last firmware update we deposit into the /firmware/ folder.

That all works fine and the phone loads the config from <mag>-set.cfg except.....

In <mac>-set.cfg I have the following lines:

bg.color.selection="2,1"
bg.color.bm.1.name="<fullpath>/images/logogray_vvx301.png"

which will not load/display the correct background if the firmware updates.

If the firmware does NOT update the image loads and displays fine.

can anyone assist please?

Hello @Rus Yates-Aylott,

welcome back to the Polycom community.

Some or a couple of your old post(s) => here <= are still open / pending as you have not marked these as "Accept as a solution" or at least provided some form of feedback or answer.

If they are in this state nobody finding them via a community search will know if an answer or advice provided was useful and has maybe helped you.

Could you therefore kindly go over them and mark or answer as appropriate ?

If they are marked as "Accept as a solution" other users can find these easier and it helps them to utilise the community more efficiently.

For your new post it is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

It would also be helpful to attach a backup of the configuration on the phone and a phone App log.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier

My phone originally has release 5.4.1.184051 but as part of my experiment, I have used 5.7.2.1277 and also the very latest flavour of 5.8

I have used my autoprovisioning config file as mentioned to upgrade the firmware but downgraded to 5.4 using the webgui software updater and also removed all traces of any previous configuration by performing a full factory reset.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up on my earlier posts. I'll look into those now.
