Hi Everybody

I have configured a layer 3 HP switch with a voice VLAN (VLAN 20) and a data VLAN (VLAN 10). LLDP and the DHCP relay with the IP helper to the DHCP server have been configured in the voice VLAN on the switch, as well as a corresponding scope on the Windows 2008 DHCP server. On testing the VVX 500 phones pick up the correct VLAN and the correct address, however the cx600 phones fail to receive any address at all. I have tried adding option 010 to the DHCP scope as suggested however this has not fixed this issue.

Is there any specific configuration that the CX600 needs on the scope options to make it get the correct address?

Has anybody got any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks

Thanks for your post but I have already read that article and tried the solution even though the switch suppots LLDP, however it has not fixed the issue. I am sure the networking side of things are configured correctly, as the VVX500 works fine, its just the cx600 phones that refuse to work. Is there anything else I can try as I am desperate for a solution?

Hello Internet_Boss,

Polycom and other manufacturers produce these devices after a reference design and the OS running on the phones is provided by Microsoft.

You may want to reach out to the Microsoft community and / or Microsoft support in addition.

In order to troubleshoot this you would need a wireshark trace via a spanned port and check the DHCP discover coming from the phone and compare the DHCP offer coming from the server.

You Polycom reseller and / or Polycom support directly is the correct escalation path to go through.

Hi Internet_Boss,

Did you ever find a solution for your issue? I have a similar problem with the CX600, on first boot, it grabs the right IP on the Voice VLAN but any restart after of the phone cause it to get a IP from the Data VLAN.  Thanks.

Hello TTming,

Polycom and other manufacturers produce these optimized for Microsoft® Lync® devices after a reference design and the embedded OS running on the phones is provided, supported and maintained by our partner Microsoft®.

You therefore may want to reach out to the Microsoft® community and / or Microsoft® support directly instead as this is the most direct and efficient path.

Best Regards
