Hello WouterWeb,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Jan 6, 2012 Question: How can I create a local directory or what is the 000000000000-directory.xml used for?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above FAQ article and the Admin Guide contain this information. I will update it as well in order to add some of the older still current SoundStation and Sound Point phones.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

I agree that adding contacts via the phone 10 digit is stunningly antiquated.   This should be done through a usb csv file if it can't be done directly through the web interface.   I'm amazed that the polycome phones don't ave this simple feature.  How primitive!

Hello Jim123

The way to request such new feature is outlined in the FAQ

Seems like there is no point in requesting as this has been a question for years which you don't care about at all and keep replying with that same robotic comment. I mean really a simple USB option where one person can go around and upload a list from that stick seems like a feature not hard to add. Just don't care about it at this point they make enough money from big companies where they use the same old same old. Why improve anything at all when we can just coast with the same tech for years and repeat the same answers to people over and over.

Hello Typhlosion,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Like with everything else it comes down to demand and how much more phones we could basically sell having this option.

It is not as easy as you imagine as we need to carefully plan new features, the effort required to implement it and if and what phone models are supported.

As hardly anyone (in the bigger picture) wants this feature we have not yet prioritized.
