Hi.  I have an IP320 handset that I need to configure to work with my Sipgate account, but I'm struggleng to get the device to work.  If anyone has any experience of this handset and this service provider, I would be very grateful for some advice.

Best regards,  Alan

Hello Alan,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Our VoIP community FAQ holds a general post covering most SIP Servers here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: Can I register or is my Polycom Phone compatible with a “XYZ” SIP Server?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

In addition using Google I found Sipgate holds a dedicated page => here <=

I've given up on this.  I enlisted the help of a friend, between us we have about 30 years I.T. experience & we're either missing something or we're wasting our time.  It's going on eBay and I'll buy a device from Sipgate themselves.

Hello Alan,

without any kind of feedback what is going wrong nobody will be able to help you.

As mentioned in my original reply Sipgate has got their own dedicated section showing exactly how to do this and in addition our own FAQ shows that standard settings as well.

Best Regards

Thanks Steffen.  The sipgate response is to send me a link to the page they have on configuring this model.  I've  / We 've followed the settings step by step (They look quite straight forward and fairly obvious to be honest) but the phone will simply not accept calls.

I've decided it's not worth buying another handset as I'm out of the office a lot anyway, so I've routed my sipgate voicemails to my windows phone as emails with .wav attachments and plan to make all my outgoing calls on my mobile.

Plan B was VOIP on the mobile, but  Annoyingly, I have a Windows mobile and I can't find a  client that works with Sipgate on on that either.  The wonders of modern technology 😞

Hello,

this sounds like a simple firewall / port issue. The FAQ shows how to check if the phone is registered.

If the phone cannot communicate via the router with Sipgate then no other phone will work.

Best Regards
