Dear coleagues.

I wonder if you can help me. I am also having problemas to upgrade Polycom 330. Need to change phone menu to spanish version and proper time & date setup.

I am using Filezilla Server and get the Polycom 330 to get connected to the FTP sever. From logs I realize that some files are being transfered but some others are not. I wonder why access is being denied for   0004f21e04ac-app.log

Hello Suarezl,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I have moved your post as the original post was marked as a solved solution.

 

The Guide highlighted in this post and also in the FAQ contains all Information needed to flash a phone.

 

You <mac>.log file error comes most likely from not allowing to append or even write a file in your FTP Server settings.

 

Your details show that you are already running UCS 3.3.4 which should not require a FTP Server in the first place to change the language.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Thanks for your kind reply.

Previous Polycom 330 version was 2.1.2.0049 and I managed to updated it to UCS 3.3.4. However I am still puzzled that it still does not accept lamguage change form English to Spanish. I get "Language change fail" idem to when I had previous version.

 

I apprecaite if anyone provide any hints about it.

Hello Luis,

 

to troubleshoot this issue I would need to look at the logs in more detail but as a Polycom Employee I am unable to provide you with free support via this community.

 

I am currently not aware of any open bugs in UCS 3.3.4 that would prevent you from changing the language and as long as you are using the correct files in the directory that come with the UCS 3.3.4 download the phone should be able to change.

 

You could try a later version like UCS 4.0.2 Rev B instead and ensure you check the whole log and allow append / write on your FTP Server.

 

You can post the whole log and wait if another community member is willing to help you or log a ticket via your reseller with Polycom support.

Thanks very much for your kind advice. 

 

May I say that I did not try firmware version 4.0.2 because on UC Software release marix  Polycom 320/330 4th colum states "NO"  which Interpreted as no supported.

you are correct, I overlooked the fact the only the 321/331 support UCS 4.0.0 and above.

 

As mentioned below I would suggest you post a app / boot log and maybe someone in the community will be able to respond.

 

Please allow append / write on the FTP server side.

Hi Guys,

I just found the cause of the problem! I did a test with a device SoundPoint IP 330 and I faced the same problem and found that the xml file can not have more 52KB size, to reduce the file size is possible to edit it and remove some lines that do not contain values in them
