I have come into what I believe to be a first revision Polycom 650 (6 linekeys, same body type, only visible difference is the Hold button has the Pause symbol on it).

When it boots it stops at a screen with a 90 second wait that says "Preliminary bootROM, beta use only."

Pressing the ABOUT key it says Rev: 3.2.3.0001 24 Jan-07 18:46

When I press start or let the timeout expire it will download the bootROM on the server I have set up but it fails saying "Error updating bootrom!"  (it also says this in the logs it uploads).  I've tried a number of different bootroms: 262, 323, 400, 410, 411, 423 all result in the same problem.

Is there some trick in updating the bootrom out of this beta image?

Hello mcsmith86,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

I am unsure where you have gotten this phone from but it is Polycom property and usually only handed out to partners for evaluation purposes or testing of Software.

You will be unable to do anything with this phone as the software for it is not public.

It should have been returned to Polycom once whoever received it was finished testing the unit.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier

Bummer.  It was acquired in a lot of phones off of Ebay, the others are good to go.
