We are trying to install Polycom IP phones on our network.   We have had no issues setting up our IP 650's and IP 550's on our network.

However, we cannot get out IP 5000 and IP 335's to work without bouncing our firewall (Cisco SA 520)  and switch (Cisco SF 300-48p).  The phones work fine once the switch and firewall have been rebooted but any phones that are added or moved to a new port will net work until the switch and firewall are rebooted once again.

No issues with the 650's or 550's.  They can be moved at anytime to any port and will run with no issues and without he need to reboot.

All phones are brand new and were received about 2 weeks ago from our distributor.

Is there a known compatibility issue?

Hello Mdennison,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I would suggest you check what SIP / UCS and BootROM / Upgrader / Updater Software the phones are running and then possibly upgrade / downgrade (if possible) to the same Version.

Another option would be to check the logs for the switches / firewall and work with the hardware manufacturer of these to troubleshoot what prevents these from working.

I guess I'm surprised that there is no document or post if there is a known compatibility issue.

Hello Mdennison,

I had provided an suggestion from a Polycom perspective and you are more than welcome to utilize the community search.

Other members may post a reply but due your original post having only appeared a short while ago you may need to wait a bit longer.

Have you tried utilizing a public search engine like Google?
