Hi there,

I have a VoIP account with Internode, and I want to configure a new SoundPoint IP 331 phone to work with it.

The phone is running BootROM 4.2.2.0710 and Bootblock 3.0.2.0024.

It is connected via Ethernet cable and has a local IP address. It has connected properly to the network and I can succesfully ping it.

Any hints on how I can get going? I can't seem to find any documentation on how to set it up to use a standalone SIP account, rather than provision it on an enterprise server.

Thanks,

L.

Hello Liam,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: Can I register or is my Polycom Phone compatible with a “XYZ” SIP Server?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The Software you stated is just the BootROM and not the SIP / UC Software Version.

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

To upgrade to the latet UC Software 4.0.9 follow:

Thanks Steffen. That worked really well.

I just uploaded the required firmware to a server, and pointed the phone to that. I think I first had to upgarde the BootROM before upgrading the SIP software, but it worked great.

I've got the lines set up, and incoming calls are received and are fine, but outgoing calls cut out after five seconds. Any ideas why?

Thanks.
