With the latest release of software (5.0.1) there seems to be some progress in the Lync support realm.  Any update on how to connect a phone to Office 365-hosted Lync?  We do not have PBX support setup in Lync Online, but I would like to use my phone for calendar, contacts and Lync-to-Lync calls if possible.

 

When I try to connect today I get:

welcome to the Polycom Community.

 

I believe your snippet above pretty much shows what is wrong with your setup.

 

Check your DNS and check your certificate.

 

Please be aware of the following when utilizing UCS 4.1.0 or later:

The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a Lync environment. You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a Lync server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.

Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.

Thanks Seffan.  I will check with our server admin to see if he has a proper SSL certificate in place on the server.  The way I read it is that you need an SSL certificate with subject alternative names (SAN) support so sip.mycompany.com also works with sipdir.online.lync.com, sipfed.online.lync.com.  Being new to SIP I wanted to ask before heading down that route in case there was another setting that needed to be configured.

I am testing Polycom VVX 400 phone (FW ver. 5.3.0.12074) and I try to connect to Office 365-hosted Skype for business. DNS configuration is OK, which was tested with tool on https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/. We don't have installed Skype for business server 2015 locally. I already resolve problem with time settings.  But I have problem with certificate. Can you give me information which certificate I need to import?

welcome to the Polycom Community.

To my knowledge we currently do not Support O365 with our phones.

 

A future software should add support to this but I am unable to share any dates or details.

 

Could you kindly contact your Polycom reseller so they can get you in touch with a Polycom sales engineer?

New information from Slovenian support:

 

VVX does't currently support work in the Office 365 environment, but it will be included in the new software version <removed> .They will come out <removed>. It is currently only possible to use appliances CX series.

I had actually used your Community details to get the relevant team to reach out to you.

 

I have removed the reference in regards of time line and proposed software version as we are unable to share this in public.

 

Once we have release the software version in question I will update the community accordingly but we are unable to comment on future versions or dates.
