Dear all,

We have both the 3xx series and the 4xx series of SoundPoint SIP phones. With the 3xx series, we can search for extended characters in the Corporate Directory (simple search), by pressing the corresponding button enough times. This doesn't seem to work with the 450 phones. It will just allow me to search for the standard latin characters on each button.

We are currently running the 4.0.2B version and we have verified that localization file is loaded correctly, and has the textEntry with the correct entries in (same file is working on 3xx series).

Is there anyone that can confirm that this is the behavior, or is there something I can do to solve this issue?

Best regards,
Glenn O. Larsen

Hello Glenn,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Are both types of phones running the same firmware and configuration?

Have you got an example character you are unable to use?

Hi Steffen,

> welcome to the Polycom Community

Thank you...

Both phones are running the same firmware (UC Software Version 4.0.2.11307, with the BootROM Software Version 5.0.2.12692).

They have the same configuration as well, and I can see that they are both loading the correct language (in this case Norwegian and Swedish).

In the file SoundPointIPLocalization/Norwegian_Norway/SoundPointIP-dictionary.xml this is configured under textEntry

   <Entry ID="2" key="abc2æåäà"/>

... and I get all of these (abc2æåäà) on the IP 321, but only "abc2" on the IP 450.

I even added "3" to this list, and that was working for IP 321, but not for IP 450. For me it looks like the IP 450 is not using the textEntry - Entry ID list at all..

I will update this post, when I have found a solution to my problem.
