When dialing a number, the phone will cutoff the dial if I delay during the pressing of the numbers. That is, when I start to dial a number and need to look back at something the number is written on, before I can turn back to continue dialing, the phone will stop the dialing process in approximately 2 seconds. Can that delay time be extended to 4-5 seconds before it drops? I have looked for how to do this, but no luck. Please keep in mind we older folks don’t do things as fast as we used to!!!

New user to VoIP phones. Have three VVX-310 units on DHCP server. SIP ver 4.1.4.7430. Will provide other info as needed. Thanks.

Hello DickC,

are you using a SIP provider for your service or have you setup the phone from scratch?

We do not disclose within this official Polycom community how to reset the Phones if the Admin Password is lost/changed.

Many of our partners utilize these phones and offer services so we cannot publicly disclose the procedure to do so.

You may want to check with your service provider in regards of the password if you are using one.

We will remove any post replying to this that will publicly explain how to remove the password.

Best Regards

Hi there

Can you do an export all from the config of your phone?

Check the dialplan.digitmap.timeOut setting in the config files? this is a timeout in seconds for each segment of digit map. After you press a key, the phone will wait this many seconds before matching the digits to a dial plan and dialing the call.

How are you provisioning your phones? have you looked at the phone logs?

Cheers

Dave

Hello DickC,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

As already outlined by Dave this is a normal timer we utilize if a call is made off hook.

The community's VoIP => FAQ <= contains this post here:

  • Oct 7, 2011 Question: Phone unable to Dial a number when Off Hook or on 2nd Call in a Conference?

    ResolutionPlease check => here <=

The above post explains in detail how the Digitmap is used on the phone.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Thanks for the reply Dave. I appreciate it.

I have tried to login to the phone via IP address and browser, but apparently it doesn't like my password, which should have been the default of 456 (Admin) & 123 (User). "Should" is the operative word here.

Is there another way to get to the config of the phone? Please keep in mind this is my first experience using this type of phone, and novice doesn't even begin to describe my level of knowledge!
