Hello,

Currenlty we are in a mixed enviroment where we have both the IP4000 and IP5000 for VOIP/SIP and the soundstation 300 for analog.  Our users are having issues because they both dial differanlty to make outbound calls.

1.  The IP phone you dial the number and then you have to hit the dial button to make the call.

2.  The analog you dial the number and it automatically connects.

Even with instructions this is causing confustion in our enviroment and users are complaining.

Is there another IP solution that behaves more like the analog soundstation?

Is there a setting that can be changed on the IP phone to make it behave like the analog?

Thank you,

Frank

Hello Frank,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

On the analog variant I pressume your users go off hook and then dial the number and the PABX or the landline they are connected to connects the call.

Our SIP phones, in off hook mode will check against their digitmap and then action. You can simply remove this.

Thanks for the information Moderator. I'm new here and was looking for the same answer.

So it sounds like this is referring to dial patterns and not the functionality of the phone.  We do not have a SIP server but use a UNIFY PBX.

Hello Frank, ,

the above FAQ post explains in detail how and when the digitmap is applied on the phone.

The IP part as you call it is a SIP registration to your SIP server or Provider.

Dialing Off hook (aka hearing the dial tone before dialing) will utilize the digitmap to determine the pattern you are dialing.

Once it matches it will dial the number.

In your case you need to change or remove it completely to send the digits without pressing send.

Please work with your Polycom reseller if you require further support.
