Hello,

 

We need to disable the MUTE buttons for several of our SoundStation IP 6000 conference phones.

We have been able to disable the mute button on the phone itself using:

 

<key key.16.function.prim="Null" key.16.subPoint.prim="Null" key.16.function.prim="Null" key.16.subPoint.prim="Null">
</key>

 

However the mute buttons of the external microphone pods are still working.

How can we disable those ones as well ?

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

The SSIP6000 share the same Microphones as its analog counterparts SoundStation2 EX and SoundStation Premier EX.

 

These are analog microphones and cannot be controlled via the SoundStation IP / SoundPoint IP software.

Thank you very much for your response.

 

We do understand that the microphone on each pod is analog and can't be controlled by the software.

 

However, the button on the microphone pod do send the same digital request than the mute button on the keyboard of the soundstation itself, which the software responds by changing the LED lights to RED on the soundstation, and turning off the sounds from the microphone.

 

If the mute buttons were pushbuttons in serie with the analog phones, we'd understand that the software cannot control that... However in this case, it is sending a signal back to the main board of the soundstation which is then initiating a mute sequence from the software. We just need this mute sequence in the software to be disabled. So that the LED never turn RED and the sound from the analog microphones are never suppressed.

 

Can this request be escalated to the software development team, which must know of a configuration parameter that does exactly that ?

any change in software or behaviour must come via your Polycom reseller and involve a Polycom sales engineer.

Thank you for your fast response.

 

 

We are the Polycom reseller. We are looking for an existing parameter which would disable the MUTE function on the SoundStation, more so than an custom programming. Is there a way to ask an engineer if this configuration parameter already exist in the code ?

I am one of these Engineers (Tier 3) and am not aware of such Parameter.

on second thoughts you may want to set KEY logging to Event 2 or so and try the MUTE buttons on the microphone and see if they appear in the log with a different button.

I have almost the opposite problem: I cannot get the mute keys on the external mics to work on the ip6000. When in a call and a user presses the mute button on the external mics there is no change; the indicator light stays green and the mic does not mute.

 

If they press the mute button on the phone it work correctly and mutes all mics.

 

This is happening on all mics and all IP 6000's.

 

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, 

 

Our office SoundSptation i6000 has 2 external mics (2201 67840101) and they won't mute when pressing Mute Button on the enternal mics. They only mute when pressing the button on the station itself. 

 

Is there a fix to that?
